It is very difficult for fat people to find clothes to wear. I believe that if many Americans go to China, they cannot find clothes. On the other hand, the boys do not want to date fat girls. As a result, girls need to lose weight, because they want to date with boys and get married. However，the hospital likes fat people, because they can bring as much profit as hospital management wants to get. So, you cannot get contempt from hospital.

Most people think salt can make the food more tasteful; salt can help us to defend many kinds of bacteria. But they do not know diets high in salt increase blood pressure are a leading risk factor for hears attacks and stroke. For example, when my mother cooks, she always put a lot of salt into the food. If she doesn’t put as much as she think it is ok, she doesn’t eat. As a result, she check her health every year, she has high blood pressure. The doctor suggests she eat less salt; however, she doesn’t follow. Most of us will feel unhealthy when we advise somebody to have a diet with little salt. Actually only 11% of salt come from the saltshakers; 80% of salt comes from food itself. So even if you cut down 20% of the salt in your food, you will be healthier body, and have more pleasure in life instead of worry about some kinds of cardiovascular disease because of your diet habit.

Reaction:

Self-injury is an increasingly risky social problem in the recent years. The bad economic solution has made many people lost their jobs; it is a hard time for each person and each country. Adults can not care about their family; they feel very powerless. When they try to change this again and again, it is still impossible. All negative emotions are come out. They will believe they are loser, in their whole lives. The best way to change this condition is suicide, which can help his/her family. In the world, I think most girls choose self-injury because they are disappointed in love. I had an ex-boyfriend; I loved him so much that even now I can not forget him. When he told me we had to break up, I felt so bad. I didn’t eat or drink for several days; also, I was thinking about self-injury. However, I didn’t do it because of three reasons. First, I am very scared of pain. For example, people usually cut their finger with paper; it is not pain. But, I feel very much pain and I will cry for this. I can not bear it. Next, I was thinking about my parents. They love me so much and they always do their best to satisfy me. If I had died, they would have had a sad life in their retirement. The guy didn’t know anything and he didn’t feel sadness. However, we had a lot of memories in my hometown forever. I could go outside and it would let me remember what happened between us in this area; my heart always felt hurt again. So I told my parents that I wanted to continue my courses in America. I think my parents knew the true reason, but they didn’t say anything except “study hard.” I am appreciating that they did that for me. In my opinion, the parents need to help their girl to face losing a lover and pay attention to her feeling. It will decline the rise of self-injury.

I agree with the author, even though I am only one child in my family. In China, the government has only an one child policy. We can not have brothers or sisters in one family, except if they are twins or triplets. However, Chinese children have cousins in the family. If s/he can easily get your parents' attention, you will get jealous or get mad about him/her. I had this experience, I have a cousin whose age is close to mine. When I was a primary school student, my parents always asked me to get an A, and become the best student in school, and then they would take me to some place for travelling. I got an A and I was the best student in school; however, they did not take me to go anywhere. My cousin does not like to study, also he always failed the exams. But his parents and my parents gave him some gifts and wanted him to improve his score. I did not have anything when I got an A. I felt so bad and thought about negative things; at that time, I hate of my cousin because I thought that he was my parents' child and he took all of my parents' attentions. Now, my cousin has become my best friend in my family. I like talking to him for everything like a brother; also he can keep a secret from other family members.

My major is landscape design. At beginning, I want to become an engineer, because my father's families' business is real estate. However, when I went to the college to choose the major, my uncle suggested me change the major.Becoming an engineer is very difficult for the females. It requires the person must good at theory's both physics and mathematics, geography of landscape, and drawing. The terrible theory for me is physics. I always make mistakes in it; on the other hand, the engineer can't make this mistake. But I love geography of landscape and drawing very much.
I lost the goal and didn't know what major is benefit for me. Then, my uncle told me the landscape design is similar as engineer. Of course, it is the best major for girl to study. I was feared to remember the theory, because I don't have good memories to remember. In my family, all numbers in my father's family listen to my uncle. He is like a boss, all people are waiting for his choice. So, I followed his choice to go to the college study landscape design. After I studied it, I found it different what I thought. Drawing is more than other theory. China has long landscape history, but people can't care about the gardens anything more. They don't have money to buy a house with garden. I can't find job in my major. My uncle paid the money for to come from American to continue studying. Then, it helps me to return to my country own my small business. My uncle always said, " if you like some food, you must learn how to cook it." I know he want me do everything must from the beginning. However, i like trying to taste everything that I have never eaten before. I love travelling, because I am interested in the special local food. From high-class banquet to ordinary meal, from street snack to home-made dishes. Sichuan cuisines is diversified in variety, novel in style, and elaborate in cooking. The duck blood in chili sauce is very famous food in Chongqing. Some people believe it is very delicious. When I saw the Journal question, I was thinking about myself. I am normal person have normal life in the world. I cannot become a famous person like Qin Shihuang, who unified China 2200 years ago, was first emperor of China in the history. Maybe you had already watched the movie, which was named: The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, was very famous. So, you will know the emperor. When he was 13 years old, he was asked people began to work for his mausoleum. It took 11 years to finish. It is speculated that many buried treasures and sacrificial objects had accompanied the emperor in his after life. Every figure differs from these around in facial features and expression, clothing , hairstyle, and gestures. However, the horsemen, the longbow bearers, the archers and the senior officers and generals were positioned in strict accordance with the ancient directives on the war. Many of the figures originally held real weapons of the time, such as bronze swords, longbows, arrows, spears, dagger axes and other long shafted weapons. In my country, most people like taking photos of themselves in my country. All of them are teenagers. After teenagers take pictures, they will you photos shop to fix. It makes them more pretty which considered not to be seen like others. They wear colorful clothes differs others. However, the parents are even cannot accept their child to wear. They always change their hair's style and color. Even though it is very harmful for their hair. Some of them use the wig on the head to take picture. Both girls and boys usually make up, they use eyes line, eyes shadow and so on. More and more boys learn how to use the colorful contact. It makes their eyes special. Bighter and bigger eyes makes photos look particular. No matter girls or boys, using photo shop change something can more beautiful. We call this "Fei Zhu Liu (maybe Americans call it "Non-mainstream")". It kind like person, who played Punk which is not very popular music, made themselves strange with peculiar close, hair, and shoes. Parents, teachers, and schools managements are very worried about this situation. Some students want to become different from "ordinary" students. All of the students must wear the correct uniform to school everyday. The schools officers believe that wearing a uniform helps unite children; develop a self – concept, and build a sense of pride in their school. The parents are responsible for ensuring that their children are wearing the proper uniform and that they are well groomed for the day. There is a range of uniform clothing designed for summer, autumn, winter and sports wear. The students want to change their school uniforms to more fashionable Korean/Japanese styles. The students definitely agreed to the change but parents objected saying that the uniforms looked too good and would encourage early romances among the students. Considering how ugly the current Chinese school uniforms are. Knowing how Chinese students already dislike the styles. It wouldn't be a bad idea to try something new for a change. It would definitely make the girls look cuter.Anyway, I remember back in high school when school uniforms were a topic of discussion. Honestly, I was somewhat leaning towards for school uniforms as I spent too much of my morning minutes deciding what clothes to wear. Also, it would relieve financial stress on parents to frequently purchase new clothes.

We have the national emblem except the flag. The national emblem of the People's Republic of China is Tian An Men in the centre illuminated by five stars and encircled by ears of grain and a cogwheel. The ears of grain, stars, Tian An Men and cogwheel are pained golden, and the inner part of the circle and hanging ribbons are painted red, because these two colours are traditional Chinese colours representing auspiciousness and happiness. When I came to America at the first time, I felt very stressful. I didn't know how to talk with other people who came from difference country, I didn't know how to use the machines by myself, and I didn't know the local rules in America. In here, I didn't have any family remembers and close friends. I always couldn't sleep and cried at night. Moreover, people's diet could be a problem. In the United States, there are always cheese, hamburgers, and pizza on the table at mealtime when I live in the dormitory. In the dormitory, there is very small kitchen for each floor. There are several problems that you could not cook here. Once I cooked in the kitchen, the students, who lived in the same floor with me, crossed the kitchen and looked at me strangely. I was so nervous. So, in my opinion it is not good idea. At home countries’ restaurants the food’s flavors are different. People might feel upset because there is no food that they are used to eating, so learning how to solve culture shock might be useful for people who come to a new country.How can I do to reduce the stress? At this time people could find a hobby, think of something nice to do, or make a close friend who comes from your native country. People can do some exercises in the free time. If people miss the parents, they can use internet and talk to parents face to face. In the city or town you can make the new friends who have common topics. Maybe some of your friends and you come from the same country. But, if you have some friends who are native speakers, you enjoyed them will help you to improve your level. Don’t be shy. Believe yourself to be best person in the world; you are better than native speakers, because you speak their language and your home language. During the vocation, your friends and you can make a plan to visit some states that you like.

I remember this was a question is about courtship, dating, arranged marriages, online dating sites, random stranger. There are all possible potions that one has in finding a husband or wife. We talk a lot, so I want tell you the experiences with this holiday in my country and how do we celebrate this day. In my country, we have three days for Valentine’s Day. The dates are February 14th, March 14th, and the 7th day of the 7th lunar month in the Chinese calendar, we call it 'Qi Xi'. There is an interesting love story behind this day about the 7th daughter of Emperor of Heaven and an orphaned cowherd. The Emperor played spoilsport and separated both of them. The 7th daughter was forced to move to the star called Vega and the cowherd moved to the star named Altair. They are allowed to meet only once a year on the 7th day of 7th lunar month. On the Chinese Valentine's Day, lovers go to the temple of Matchmaker and pray for their love and happiness and their possible marriage. People who are still single also do the same thing to ask their luck of love in the Matchmaker temple. This is also called The Daughter's Festival. Since ancient times, Chinese girls always want to learn a good handcrafting skill like the Weaving Maid. The knowledge of handicrafts and skill development is essential for their future family. On that night, the unmarried girls pray to the Weaving Maid star to let them become smarter. When the star Vega is high up in the sky, girls perform a test by putting a needle on the water surface. If the needle doesn't sink, it's a sign of girl's maturity and smartness and she is ready and eligible to find a husband. Girls may, now, ask for any wish of their choice, but only one every year. And for the day on February 14th, the girl give the boy, who is the girl love, of chocolate as well as other gifts by their hands, or the girl is encouraged to express love to boy by giving chocolate on February 14th. Then, boy gives the gifts to girl on march 14th called 'White Valentine’s Day'. But many people think it too much for the Valentine’s Day. I really want Americans know the history of my country. Americans always get wrong information form media like other countries’ people. However, many things I don't like to talk. We have a long history about 5,000 years. Tea and flower culture are very Chinese. But, many people think both tea and flower culture are came from Japan. Chinese people enjoy drinking tea as same as western people enjoy drinking coffee. There is no point to compare which one is better. Both are good as long as you enjoy it. Both are bad if you hate it. We respect every culture and have no intention to force our like upon others, such as most Americans think Taiwan is a country. An Important Person for Me

My uncle is the most important person in my life. He impacts my life. I can come to America to study, I will thank for him because he give me money to pay for the tuition. He is a smart, handsome, and successful man. He always knows how to get the chance. When he was a teacher, he met a government officer. The officer told my uncle that he wanted my uncle to help him in government. This is first time change my uncle’s life. Few years later, my uncle thought the job did not have challenged for him. It is so boring, he met an important man – Johnson who was the CEO came from US. He decided to become a business man. He went to Johnson’s company where in Beijing. He did not know anything at the beginning, but he did not give up. He studied everything harder than other people. After five years later, he had his first company in Beijing. Now he has several companies. He always tells me, “I am the best person in the world. Never give up. The god will give you chance and you get it easier than other person.”

Grandpa

I am missing my grandpa. He was past away for ten years. I remember the day is the first day of Chinese New year. My parents and I always go to my father’s parent’s house to celebrate the New Year. The second day we go to my mother’s parent’s house. However, my uncle called my father, after the call my parents did not say any word to me. They left me at my aunt’s home for four days. I knew that it must happen something. At fifth day, my father went to aunt’s house, told me my grandpa was died, and asked me to don’t cry, because my grandma couldn’t bear this news. During that time, I didn’t allow the tears to fall down. But at night, I was missing him. I thought my grandpa took me to the park at first time, it was the last time. It was a funny story for my grandpa and me.
My grandpa took me to play at the park for the whole mooring when I was 4 years old. When the time was lunch time, he asked me to go home. I was angry with that, I didn’t enjoying. So I asked him to play last game and then we could go home. He asked me promised. However, when I finished I couldn’t find my grandpa. I ran to the home, it is a long and dangerous way for 4 years old child. I must cross 3 busy streets and many cars. I saw my grandma and cried, she asked me why I was crying so sad. I told her I lost my grandpa at park, I just wanted her know the news and I was so sorry about it. My grandma couldn’t cry and smile. After a while, my uncle came in. I told him again. He was laughing loud. Then he took me to the park. At first time we saw my grandpa was so busy to find me. He was so worried about me. My uncle told him the experience. He said he didn’t took me to park never :-(

Alone Time

I do not like alone time. I always look at alone time such as a bad word. I see it as terrible, because I feel down about being by myself, I always afraid of being alone and did a lot of stupid things to avoid it. Don’t tell me it is wrong, being around people is a wonderful. I need somebody around me, listen to me, and talk to me. However, sometimes my friends don’t have time stay with me. I must stay alone. I feel uncomfortable. I will write something, because I love to write. When I am not writing, I like to read with a cup of tasty coffee and napkins. The book does not have happy ending, I like cry. Of course, I stay with myself, I want to cry, and the story gets me a reason to cry. I hate alone time.

Chiese Ghost Festival

In China, we do not have like Halloween’s holiday around this time this time. But we have a holiday is similar to Halloween. There are many kinds of ghosts in Chinese culture. They have been believed for a thousands years. One of the famous person said, “Respect ghosts and gods, but keep away from them.” Many people believe in ghosts, but others don’t. The Chinese people often say, “If you believe it, there will be, but if you don’t, there will not.” In our culture, the ghost always is a beautiful young woman. The face changed very quickly from a beautiful girl to a frightening ghost. She looks like fragile and helpless. Such as the Halloween, the Chinese have a holiday. It means that ghosts can go to the world every year for one day. In traditional, the fifteenth day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar is called Ghost Day, which ghosts and spirits can come out from the lower realm and visit the living. At that day, the hell and the realm of the living are open and both Taoists and Buddhists would perform to absolve. During the month would include preparing food, burning incense, and burning money. The paper can make for clothes, gold and other fine goods for the visiting spirits. At this time nights, the children are not permit to go outside, because their soul is so simple. Thus, they can see the ghosts, but the most adults can not. As result, they have the third eye which does not see and is not ordinary between the common eyes. Be careful, if you soul as the child, you will see the different things.

The students want to find a good relationship between girls and boys. Sometimes you the boy and girl have a good relationship. Then, the feeling will be changed. It is a puppy love and this is a common way to meet lovers when you are students. Sometimes you go to your friends’ school or party, meet a person and become boy/girlfriend by the friends’ introduction. Moreover, you can meet a person when you go to bar. Now, the internet is more and more popular, you can find some people in internet. When you talk with someone by MSN or QQ (this is the most famous chat tool in China), that person has lots of the same hobbies with you, feels you are falling love each other, and becomes boy- girl friends. They will go some interesting place for dating. Then you can pick up that girl/boy. In my opinion, I don’t think this is good way to know a person, because you don’t know that person, you just talk in internet; all of the information are from that person said. Sometimes it is very dangerous way to meet a strange guy.

During the CESL break, my friend and I went to Champaign. It is a city in Champaign County, Illinois, in the United States, and it is near Carbondale, which is in the middle between Carbondale and Chicago. It is notable for sharing the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign. Locating along Green Street, this commercial district serves as the entertainment and retail center for students at the University of Illinois. The Champaign City Building serves as the City Hall and is a recognizable landmark. As one of the most buildings in the downtown district, it serves as a city symbol, with its likes featured on the city seal. My friend’s family is in here. At night, we met an uncle and nephew. They wanted to choose the restaurants to eat dinner. The uncle asked me to tell his nephew ‘Peter pick.” But the nephew wanted me tell his uncle ‘John pick.’ I told them, “You (Both uncle and nephew) pick.”

Uniform

In China the autumn school semester always start on September 1st. All of the students must wear the correct uniform to school everyday. The schools officers believe that wearing a uniform helps unite children; develop a self – concept, and build a sense of pride in their school. The parents are responsible for ensuring that their children are wearing the proper uniform and that they are well groomed for the day. There is a range of uniform clothing designed for summer, autumn, winter and sports wear. The students want to change their school uniforms to more fashionable Korean/Japanese styles. The students definitely agreed to the change but parents objected saying that the uniforms looked too good and would encourage early romances among the students. Considering how ugly the current Chinese school uniforms are. Knowing how Chinese students already dislike the styles. It wouldn't be a bad idea to try something new for a change. It would definitely make the girls look cuter. Anyway, I remember back in high school when school uniforms were a topic of discussion. Honestly, I was somewhat leaning towards for school uniforms as I spent too much of my morning minutes deciding what clothes to wear. Also, it would relieve financial stress on parents to frequently purchase new clothes. So, I don't think the uniform is bad thing for the students.

Coffee or Tea?

All of us know our country - China is a centuries-old history country,and most of us like tea. In other words, chinese history is a tea history. There are so many kinds of tea:Long jin, tie guanyin, Bi luo chun, mao jian, wulong, ect... I know, many Chinese in abroad like tea very much, maybe it's a complex emotion for miss mother-land or hometown, I heard the parents require their children to acquaint and drink tea,and my parents asked me do that, too. sounds like to keep some chinese culture
But now, coffee is another choose for some people. There are also many types for coffee, such as Brazil coffee,lan shan coffee, black coffee, ect. Someone say, coffee is western's patent. However, I love coffee, any kind of coffee in any incarnation. With sugar or without, with milk or without. Espressos, Mochas, Lattes, Cappucinoes.... the list goes on. Sometimes I love the smell of coffee more than the taste. And it never keeps me awake.
I always go to the Starbucks order a cup of iced coffee to drink in the morning which day I have classes for whole day. Small size, sweety with white cream, so funny, the waiter can remember that lol. When I go to Starbuck, he askes me like usual? yes, thank you.

Favorite movie

When I was youth I saw the song of music, it is very good film for me. The songs are wonderful. I love the songs. However, the Harry Potter play on the threath. I am a great movie fans,let me tell you something about my favorites about movies. My favorite movie is Harry Potter.I really like the spirit of that movie.Harry Potter and his two friends are the main roles of that movie.They get together and face the difficulties,wherever how hard,they never give up, kind of pure love and outstanding courage is the very point that we should learn.

My favorite actor is Jackie Chan.I've seen all of his movie, and when he went to Unite States to played the movie, which is called "80 days around the world" and "Shanghai Kinght".He is famous for his action movies,his Chinese kung fu is really great,when I'm watching his movie,I feel really excited!He's very funny too. He love his motherland--China,that's the most important thing. Well, he love his family, also it is very important, too.

I love all kinds of music. It makes me have a few mentions and improve expresses on emotions and feelings. I like put some pop music in my mp3. When going to class, I always listen to them. it saves my time on silent way to school. Before sleeping, I want to Relax myself. The classical or the piano rectal is the best song to relax the feelings and makes easier falling sleep. At weekend, the club is good place to vent for the whole weekdays. Listening the hip-hop music and dancing to release the energy. When the people break up with their lover, the sad songs make they crying and healing their broken heart. Not same songs make me having different feelings.

The Moon festival also called the Mid – Autumn festival or Mooncake. It falls on September 14th in 2008. What is this festival? Every year on the fifteenth of the eighth month when the moon is at maximum bright for the entire the year, Chinese people call it “zhong qiu jie”, celebrate it, and eat the moon cake. For this festival, China has a legend, a man who had a very beautiful lady at the day when ten suns appeared at once in the sky. It was very hot and no water on the ground. The man shoot the nine suns and lift one sun in the sky. After the task was accomplished, the goddess gave him a pill which would make him immortal. However, his wife found it, took it, and was banished the moon. As a result, she was living in the moon palace with a rabbit.
Today, Chinese people not only celebrate the mid – autumn festival with dances, singing and gazing for the moon with the family numbers, but also the moon cake is important balance linked with the moon festival.

first impression about United States

I was so nervous when the first time I came to the United States. Because it was the first time I leave my country and my hometown. The United States was the strange country for me, knew language and people. I knew everything is so different in here, but I still got a lot surprises about this new place. The weather is hot and dry. The people are talking very fast; I was hard to understand what they are talking about. However they are very nice; never feel tired to repeat again and again for me. School is bigger than what I thought. From one town to a big city or town, we would spend more than two hours for driving. As result, the high way is around the town. But if I will go to west of United States – California, I will buy a ticket. I should have a plant about my trip, and book the ticket early, the price of the ticket is very cheaper.
